The MIUI 12 update was available in many Xiaomi devices during the first and second roll out schedule. But the update is not yet available in Redmi Note 7 and Redmi Note 8. The users of these two devices have to wait for a few more days to receive the update. It was reported that a stable update of MIUI 12 for Redmi Note 7 might arrive soon.
But the beta update for both Redmi Note 7 and Redmi Note 8 have been postponed because of stability issues. Recently, Xiaomi released the updated version 20.9.8 for Android 11 in Redmi K30 Pro 5G and Mi 10 Youth Edition at China. Because of the latest update in OS, the OEM has kept the development of other devices on hold. On the other hand, the MIUI 12 beta update version 20.9.9 has been postponed for the Chinese variants of Redmi Note 7 and Redmi Note 8.
A stable update is still far away for the Chinese variants and also for the global ones. This is because the major updates are released at first in their home country by the OEMs. This is a bad news for the users of Redmi Note 7 and Redmi Note 8 as all other major devices have received the update. But in terms of Android security update, there is a development for Redmi Note 7 as a new update based on MIUI 11 is being rolled out with version 11.0.4.0.QFGINXM.
The MIUI 12 update was actually rolled out for Redmi Note 7 devices in the month of July but it was only for Mi Pilot program members. Its a truth that the development of Redmi Note 7 and Redmi Note 8 has been very slow but still an official announcement or a confirmation from Xiaomi is being expected soon.
