2021 Aprilia RS660

To begin with, RS660 takes inspiration from its elder sibling – the Aprilia RSV4. For now, it comes with a sculpted fuel tank, subtle wind visor, and a twin-LED headlamp setup at the front. Similarly, the rear end of the bike gets a sharp LED taillamp as well. Interestingly, Aprilia has introduced multiple colours including Acid Gold, Black Apex and Lava Red keeping in mind the young customers.

Based on the dual-beam aluminium frame, it will use a 41mm Kayaba USD fork upfront. Similarly, at the back, the middleweight sportbike comes equipped with a monoshock unit that is adjustable for preload as well as rebound.

Feature-wise, it gets a coloured TFT instrument console that helps the rider with tons of information. Also, several electronic aids to enhance rider’s safety are now a part of the standard equipment. To name a few, RS660 is available with traction control, cornering ABS, wheelie control, cruise control and engine brake control among others.

At the heart, Aprilia offers a 659cc twin-cylinder liquid-cooled engine that is extremely capable of producing 100HP @ 10,500 RPM and 67Nm of peak torque @ 8,500 RPM. However, there are multiple ride modes available to alter the overall performance of the bike. To be precise, the list includes Dynamic, Commute, Challenge, Time Attack and Individual that can be toggled via the instrument console.

In India, Piaggio will introduce Aprilia RS660 as a CBU unit. Therefore, customers can expect a highly-priced product due to hefty import taxes. Globally, RS660 competes against Honda CBR650R and other similar middleweight sportbikes.
