After complete one year, the German marque has successfully been able to launch the 2021 Audi Q5 in India with a price tag starting at Rs.58.93 Lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). With this new SUV, the carmaker definitely aims to capture the segment throne and as a result, it receives a major makeover in the form of a revised design as well as features. The carmaker has also separated it into two variants including – Premium Plus and Technology to further improve accessibility.

On the outside, the all-new Audi Q5 now sports a modern design language. The carmaker definitely did a great job by introducing a single-frame grille that now comes with vertical slats for a more mature stance at the front. This setup is further complemented by sleek LED headlamps, muscular bonnet hood and skid plate for a balanced front end. According to Audi, the new Q5 now runs on large 19-inch alloy wheels to improve the overall ride quality.

Available with five exterior shades including Ibis White, Manhattan Gray, Floret Silver, Mythos Black and Navarra Blue, it will offer an individual experience to every single buyer.

Just like other Audi cars, this one also feels premium in terms of fit and finish. The dashboard of the updated SUV now comes with a layout that features a new multi-function steering wheel, a fully digital driver’s display, a floating 25.65cm touchscreen infotainment system and large AC vents. Interestingly, with three-zone climate control and 30 colour ambient lighting, the German brand has definitely tried to improve the cabin experience of the all-new Q5.

Audi has also introduced new Atlas Beige and Okapi Brown leatherette upholstery for several panels including seats. Surprisingly, several other practical features including Park Assist, wireless charger, 19-speaker Bang & Olufsen surround sound system and electrically adjustable front seats with memory function are also a part of the new additions. For occupants safety, the 2021 Q5 is loaded with 8 airbags.

Engine & Performance

Under the hood, this new beauty will be available with a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine which is good at producing a decent 249HP and 370Nm of peak torque. Transmission duties for this unit are still managed by a 7-speed DCT gearbox with power channelled to all four wheels via the brand’s Quattro system.

Audi proudly boasts the performance figures of the updated Q5. As per the carmaker, it can clock a triple-digit speed in just 6.3 seconds with the top speed rated at 237kmph. To alter the performance, it even comes with six dedicated drive modes, namely – Efficiency, Comfort, Dynamic, Auto, Individual and Off-road.

The Swedish carmaker has decided to introduce a mild hybrid system on almost all the SUVs from its lineup. As a result, the XC60 is now powerful while being fuel-efficient with a 48V unit.
