Kia recently became the fastest carmaker to bag over 2.5 Lakh sales in India. With the value for money policy, Kia always manages to attract a lot of customers. For now, the Korean brand has launched the updated Seltos at Rs.9.95 Lakh onwards (ex-showroom, Delhi). The all-new compact SUV features around 17 new updates that will be making it more user friendly. Further, it will also be available with new ‘KIA’ badging all across including bonnet hood, tailgate and steering wheel among others.

Wondering what all updates can be witnessed on the 2021 Kia Seltos? Well, we are here to explain even the smallest detail.

HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Kia India has finally launched the updated Kia Seltos with a starting price tag of Rs.9.95 Lakhs.
  • The 2021 Kia Seltos will be available with over 17 new updates and new ‘KIA’ badging.
  • The same three engines will be powering the updated Kia Seltos range.

2021 Kia Seltos

Remember Kia discontinued the HTX+ diesel variant last month? To replace them, the Korean carmaker has introduced two new variants this time. Just to be precise, the first one is the HTK+ variant that now comes with an iMT gearbox paired to the 1.5-litre petrol engine. Another new variant is the GTX(O) that is only available with a turbo petrol engine while being mated to a manual gearbox.

In terms of features, Kia has introduced Smart Pure Air Purifier that will keep the occupants safe from viruses and bacteria. Looking at the current condition, this feature might bring an advantage to the carmaker. Apart from this, the all-new SUV will come with remote engine start, wireless screen mirroring, over the air map updates and additional voice commands for the sunroof and window.

In terms of safety, the all-new Seltos range will get the Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Brake Assist, Vehicle Stability Management (VSM) and Hill Start Control among others.

Kia has also announced that the 2021 Seltos will be available with paddle shifters on the automatic variants. The iMT variant that we have discussed earlier on the other hand will be featuring a revised black and beige interior, automatic climate control and sunroof just to name a few.

Under the hood, the updated Kia Seltos will continue to feature the same three engines on offer.

Hyundai Creta is one of the strongest contenders in this segment. Just like the Kia Seltos, even Creta comes packed with multiple features. To name a few, it gets a panoramic sunroof, multiple drive modes, 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, ventilated seats and air purifier. Interestingly, Kia Seltos and Hyundai Creta share their powertrains with each other. Therefore, the engines and power figures from both compact SUVs remain exactly the same.
