Swift was first launched in the year 2005 and since then it is one of the favourite hatchbacks all around the world. The international market has already received the 2021 Suzuki Swift with mid-life updates. However, now it is time for the Indian market to get the updated Maruti Suzuki Swift. So what all changes can we expect from the updated hatchback?

Practical, spacious and family car as it has always been known will now be available with a more performance-oriented engine as well. Further,  the cosmetic changes on the 2021 Maruti Suzuki Swift are minimal while the interior remains almost the same.

  • Maruti Suzuki is all set to launch the 2021 Swift in India by next month.
  • It is expected to come with some minor cosmetic updates.
  • Maruti Suzuki will also offer a 1.2L K12N Dualjet engine on the 2021 MS Swift.

Design & Updates

Updates on the upcoming Maruti Suzuki Swift are expected to be similar to what the company offers on the international market. Design-wise, these things are now updated – grille, front bumper and headlights that enhances the look from the front. Meanwhile, Maruti Suzuki will also offer a new set of alloy wheels on the all-new Swift.

Inside the cabin, the top-spec variants will be getting the same 7-inch touchscreen infotainment display. And without a doubt, this infotainment system supports both Android Auto as well as Apple CarPlay. However, for the lower trims, Maruti Suzuki will continue to offer the Radio and Bluetooth connectivity without a screen.

Engine

Powering the 2021 Maruti Suzuki Swift will be the same 1.2L K12C engine that churns out 83BHP of power. The torque generated by the engine stands at 113Nm. However, this time, Maruti Suzuki is expected to offer another 1.2L K12N Dualjet engine. It churns out a massive 90BHP of power and with a peak torque of 113Nm. Further, this engine is expected to come paired with the company’s mild-hybrid technology for more punch and better fuel efficiency. Both the engines will come mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. Meanwhile, one can also opt for a 5-speed automatic transmission on the 1.2L K12C petrol engine. Right now, we are expecting both the engines to be available for India simultaneously. However, if anyone outgoes, it will be the 1.2L K12C engine that will not be available in the near future.

Rivals

In India, the upcoming Maruti Suzuki Swift will continue to compete against the likes of Hyundai Grand i10 Nios, Tata Tiago, Ford Figo, etc. among others. The Japanese carmaker is all set to launch the facelifted Maruti Suzuki Swift by February 2021.
