HIGHLIGHTS:

  • MG Motors is all set to launch the updated MG ZS EV in India.
  • The launch of the updated electric SUV will take place on 8th February.
  • No major updates are expected on the electric SUV.

In terms of features, expect the updated electric car to come with projector headlamps with LED DRLs, power foldable ORVMs, automatic wipers, panoramic sunroof and 17-inch alloy wheels on the outside. Meanwhile, inside the cabin, it is available with an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, air filter, cruise control and connected car tech among others. Further, the infotainment system on the MG ZS EV supports Android Auto as well as Apple CarPlay. However, this time this list is expected to receive some new entries too.

Under the hood, MG ZS EV comes with a permanent magnet synchronous motor that is capable to churn out a massive 143HP alongside a peak torque of 353Nm. So what powers this electric motor? It is a 44.5kWh battery that takes around 17-18 hours for 80 percent power while using a 15A charger. However, for fast charging, buyers can use a 7kWh AC charger that takes around 6-8 hours to fully juice up the battery. Still in a hurry? Go for the 50kWh DC charger that takes only 50 minutes for charging the battery to its greatest extent.
Apart from all this, it comes with a claimed range of 340km as certified by the ARAI.

Currently, the British marque has priced the MG ZS EV between Rs.20.88 Lakh onwards. However, these updates might result in a price hike. Recently, MG Motors is also ready to introduce the petrol variant of the ZS SUV in India. The updated MG ZS EV will continue to rival the Hyundai Kona EV.
