It’s totally a different world when it comes to ‘take me anywhere’ vehicles and finally, they are getting the highly awaited recognition that was due for a decade or so. Still, wondering what we are talking about? Well for instance, just take the SUVs. They are practical enough to glide on a smooth surface, can be taken anywhere without screeching the belly and are even capable enough to withstand some amount of water (again a pro of having a decent ground clearance). There’s a similar segment in the motorbike world and to be precise, we call it – the Adventure Tourer segment. So, the exact news is Moto Guzzi has introduced the 2021 V85TT in India with a price tag starting at Rs.15.4 Lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Design
Design-wise, it remains just like the old V85TT. However, to differentiate, the brand has decided to offer two new shades, precisely – Rosso Uluru and Giallo Mojave. The first one is a combination of Yellow and White while the latter one consists of a Red and White colour schemes.
Features
In terms of features, the updated adventure tourer continues to come with twin LED headlamps with DRL, cruise control, TFT instrument console, ABS, traction control and electronic engine control to name a few. The ride-by-wire throttle technology also works fluently while enhancing the overall performance.
Hardware
Just like the older one the new V85TT weighs around 230kgs with a large 23-litre fuel tank. As of now, it sits on a 41mm adjustable USD fork up front and a rear monoshock at the back.
Braking duties for the same are handled by twin 320mm discs at the front. Meanwhile, at the rear, it comes equipped with a 260mm disc with dual-channel ABS for world-class braking performance.
Engine
Moto Guzzi claims that the updated V85TT uses a BS6 compliant 853cc air-cooled, twin-cylinder engine. The overall output from this motor is slightly lesser than the BS4 counterpart. However, to put them in numbers, the updated unit produces 75BHP @ 7500 RPM and 82Nm of peak torque @ 5000 RPM while being paired to a 6-speed gearbox.
That’s it? Well, not really because the bike manufacturer has also decided to offer two additional ride modes in the form of Sport and Custom. Interestingly, the older ones including Road, Rain and Offroad continue to be a part of the equipment list.
Alternatives
In India, Moto Guzzi V85TT competes with some well-established rivals. But, for now, check out the all-new Triumph Tiger 850 Sport that comes with a price tag starting at Rs.11.95 Lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi).
