Good news for the owners and future buyers of Renault Triber as the MPV has recently scored a four-star rating in the Global NCAP crash test. Under the #SaferCarsForIndia initiative, the testing body made a recent announcement that clearly stated these numbers:
- Adult occupant protection: 11.62/17 (Four-star rating)
- Child occupant protection: 27/49 (Three-star rating)
For now, all these scores are based upon the entry-level variant of the Renault Triber that gets dual front airbags. Interestingly, the protection offered on the MPV for adult occupants at the front was adequate for the head and neck. However, the knee area at the driver’s side is marginally safe. According to the Global NCAP, the body shell of the Renault Triber was rated unstable.
HIGHLIGHTS:
- Renault Triber has scored a four-star rating in the Global NCAP crash test.
- Global NCAP has rated the body shell of the Renault Triber as unstable.
- It is available with a 1.0-litre three cylinder petrol engine as standard.
2021 Renault Triber
The French carmaker has recently launched the 2021 Renault Triber in India. The design language of the updated MPV remains similar to the outgoing model. However, there are few visible updates especially in the form of dual-tone colour schemes.

Renault Triber has always been rich in exterior colour options. Well this time, it is available with Electric Blue, Metal Mustard, Cedar Brown, Moonlight Silver and Ice Cool White. Also, customers who wish to get the dual-tone colour schemes can pair any of these with a Mystery Black roof. Interestingly, this variant will cost Rs.17,000 more when compared to the fully loaded variant.
As a part of the update, the French carmaker has also introduced electrically adjustable wing mirrors with indicators. Apart from this, even the updated MPV continues to get a multi-function steering wheel, fully digital instrument cluster, 6-way adjustable driver seat and an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment display among others.
Under the hood, a sole 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol engine that is capable of producing 72PS of power and 96Nm of torque powers the Renault Triber. Also, customers will get the option to choose between a 5-speed manual or an AMT gearbox.
