Skoda has finally revealed the most awaited Skoda Kushaq in India. The all-new Kushaq will be the company’s first model under the 2.0 programme which they announced earlier. However, with this launch, Skoda has eventually confirmed its rebirth in the Indian market.

Based on the MQB A0IN platform which will be shared in the future with the upcoming Volkswagen Taigun as well, Skoda Kushaq is 4221mm long, 1760mm wide and 1612mm tall. Further, the ground clearance of the all-new SUV stands at 180mm while the wheelbase is 2651 mm long.

Apart from this, it will be available in three variants, precisely – Active, Ambition and Style. However, is the Kushaq at par when compared to its rivals? Well, let’s see what all it has got to offer.

2021 Skoda Kushaq: At A Glance

In terms of design, the all-new Kushaq will be featuring Skoda’s signature grille upfront. Meanwhile, there will be an-all LED headlight setup with DRLs, fog lamps and air intakes that sits just below the number plate housing while enhancing the sportier appeal of the SUV.

Coming to the side profile, the top-end style variant runs on a set of 17-inch alloy wheels that looks absolutely stunning with the body cladding. The mid-spec variant on the other hand is offered with 16-inch alloy wheels while the entry-level Active variant comes equipped with 16-inch steel wheels.

At the back, Skoda Kushaq comes with LED taillamps, roof spoiler and faux skid plate to name a few. Multiple color schemes including – Candy White, Carbon Steel, Honey Orange, Tornado Red and Brilliant Silver are available on the all-new SUV.

Inside the cabin, it comes with a multi-layered dashboard finished neatly. Meanwhile, in terms of features, the all-new SUV feels loaded with a wireless charging pad, 7 and 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, multiple USB C-ports, ambient lighting, ventilated front seats and a two-spoke multifunctional steering wheel among others.

Under the hood, Skoda Kushaq will be powered by a 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbo petrol engine that produces 115HP and 175Nm of torque. However, the top-end variants will get a 1.5-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol motor. It is extremely capable of generating a massive 150HP alongside a peak torque of 250Nm. Transmission duties for both the engines will be handled by a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard. However, the 1.0-litre engine will be accompanied by a 6-speed automatic gearbox while the 1.5-litre turbo petrol motor will be available with a 7-speed DSG transmission.

On the safety front, Skoda Kushaq gets multiple airbags, ESC, tyre pressure monitoring system and hill hold assist to name a few.

Rivals

Interestingly, it is also available with a diesel powertrain and this is where the all-new Kushaq takes the back seat.
