Luxury within a specific budget is all Skoda claims to offer. The money that can buy you an entry-level luxury car, is the same amount that brings you home a high-end luxury Skoda car. Not to forget, the Czech brand is a subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group. And, eventually, that’s what makes it one of the most reliable carmakers globally.

Recently, Skoda has revealed the 2021 Octavia with the SportLine trim. So basically, this all-new variant will now act as a top-end variant for the regular Octavia. To be precise, the carmaker has slotted it in between the Style variant and the performance-oriented Octavia RS. To recall, this same variant is also available on the updated Superb as well.

HIGHLIGHTS:

2021 Skoda Octavia SportLine

Just like the Superb, the all-new Skoda Octavia SportLine trim comes with multiple black elements all across. To start with, almost every badging now comes finished in black. Apart from this, the front spoiler, grille frame and rear diffuser on this specific variant get chrome black finishing. Also, the sedan now flaunts a subtle chrome black rear spoiler that further enhances its sportier appeal. Just to tell everyone that this is a SportLine trim, one can also witness a ‘SportLine’ badging on the front fenders on either side.

Skoda will offer the 17-inch Pulsar alloy wheels as standard. However, customers are free to opt for the 18-inch Vega wheels that are exclusively designed for the SportLine variant. Another 19-inch Taurus alloys are also available as an option.

As per the carmaker, the interior of the SportLine trim is inspired by the Style variant. This way, inside the cabin, the executive sedan continues to get a three-spoke multi-functional steering wheel. The dashboard now comes with fabric finishing. Apart from this, just to enhance the overall experience, Skoda has used the Piano Black strips for an upmarket feel. The sports seats at the front are now available with integrated headrests. Further, the breathable Thermoflux upholstery will be something new for the customers.

Multiple powertrains including petrol, diesel, mild hybrid, plug-in hybrid as well as a CNG are available for the global market. However, it is a 1.5-litre petrol engine with mild hybrid technology and a 2.0-litre litre TSI motor producing 190PS that are expected to arrive in the Indian market. The carmaker is ready to launch the 2021 Skoda Octavia by the end of this month.

Alternatives

Major rivals to the 2021 Skoda Octavia are Hyundai Elantra and the upcoming Honda Civic. Honda has currently discontinued the production of the last-gen Civic in India. However, the Japanese carmaker is expected to introduce the next generation Civic soon.

For now, Hyundai Elantra is one of the closest competitors to the Skoda Octavia. Therefore, just take a look at what this car has got to offer.
