So far, the SUVW strategy is going well for Volkswagen in India. The second-generation Tiguan with some mid-life updates is out now. However, this time it is available with a powerful 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine. Last year, it was discontinued and replaced by the Tiguan AllSpace (7-Seater). But the SUV is finally back and this time without a diesel engine. So what all-new features can we expect from the latest offering? Let us head straight towards that.

HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Volkswagen has finally revealed the 2021 Volkswagen Tiguan in India.
  • The updated Tiguan will get a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine.

It is the front end of the 2021 Volkswagen Tiguan that get the major updates. To begin with, the grille now looks more simple yet sophisticated. Also, the older headlamp setup is now replaced by the LED Matrix units. Come down, and keen observers will notice the absence of fog lights. However, large air intakes are now a part of the redesigned bumper.

The side profile of the all-new Tiguan remains somehow similar to the older one. But there is a new set of 18-inch alloy wheels present on the updated SUV so as to give it a refreshed look.

Inside the cabin, one might not be able to differentiate it from the 7-seater Tiguan Allspace. To be precise, it comes with an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, three-zone climate control, panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, ambient lighting and a fully digital instrument cluster to name a few. Not to forget, the updated touch control air conditioning system has now replaced the older unit.

Under the hood, the 2021 Volkswagen Tiguan gets a massive update. To be very clear, the all-new SUV is now available with a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged engine. For your information, it produces 190HP alongside a peak torque of 320Nm while being mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. Apart from this, Tiguan comes with the 4MOTION all-wheel drive powertrain as standard.
