Colour schemes are as important as any other crucial feature. Earlier, the 2021 Yamaha R15 V3 used to get three different colour shades including Racing Blue, Dark Knight and Thunder Grey. However, there is always a little bit of dissatisfaction among the customers as well as bike manufacturers.

Well, no worries, Yamaha has recently launched the all-new R15 V3 with a Metallic Red paint scheme. Interestingly, this new colour option will be available with a price tag of Rs.1,52,100 (ex-showroom, Delhi). Therefore, it will be a cheaper option when compared to the Dark Knight and Racing Blue variant.

HIGHLIGHTS:

  • 2021 Yamaha R15 is now available with a Metallic Red colour scheme on offer.
  • The Japanese bike manufacturer has priced it at Rs.1,52,100 (ex-showroom).
  • It comes powered by the same 155cc liquid-cooled engine that churns 18.6PS of power.

2021 Yamaha R15 Metallic Red

Like any other variant, the all-new Metallic Red R15 V3 looks sportier. To begin with, the fuel tank and front fairing now comes with this red colour. Meanwhile, to spice things a little bit the graphics and fonts are now finished in black. Apart from this, the entire bike remains exactly the same.

Features on the 2021 R15 Metallic Red are exactly similar to the other variants. However, from now onwards, Yamaha has decided to introduce side stand engine kill switch on the upcoming R15 bikes as standard. Other features such as LED headlamps, LCD instrument cluster, dual horn, LED tail lamp, etc. will continue to be a part of the all-new variant.

At the heart, it is the same 155cc liquid cooled four valve engine that powers the R15 Metallic Red. It is capable of producing 18.6PS of power @ 10,000 RPM and the peak torque from the same unit stands at 14.1Nm @ 8,500 RPM. Not to forget, transmission duties for this engine is performed by a 6-speed gearbox.

For safety, this bike continues to get a 282mm disc upfront. Meanwhile, at the rear, it comes equipped with 220mm disc with ABS as standard. Just like the brakes, even the suspension setup on the all-new bike remains similar. To be precise, it comes with telescopic forks at the front as well as a monoshock unit at the back.

In India, Yamaha R15 V3 goes head on against the likes of Suzuki Gixxer SF. Also, it is the Honda CBR150R that will join this rivalry soon.

Suzuki Gixxer SF comes with a 155cc single cylinder air-cooled engine. But, when compared to the R15 V3 it is less powerful. The only thing that works for Suzuki right now is the aggressive pricing.
