The Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) confirmed today that the Auto Expo which was scheduled between 2nd to 9th February 2022 at Greater Noida will not be taking place between the pre-decided dates. A new schedule will be announced soon as the situation gets better keeping in mind the safety of everyone involved.
SIAM said that the organisation understands the risks involved in hosting such events. Even the probability of the third wave according to the experts is higher and therefore, a new date for the same will be announced later this year.

What is Auto Expo?
So, Auto Expo is basically an event that bridges the gap between brands and enthusiasts. To be precise, this event is aimed to push automotive brands to showcase their upcoming offerings in the form of concepts and production models, they are planning to introduce in India.
As the organisers reported, such events will ultimately gather a large number of people therefore, maintaining COVID protocols will be quite difficult at all times. During the press event, Rajesh Menon SIAM Director-General said, “Safety of exhibitors, visitors and all stakeholders involved and present at the Expo is a topmost priority of SIAM.”
The Auto Expo 2021 which was held last year was truly a successful event. Interestingly, many celebrities alongside visitors joined it with great enthusiasm. Even global carmakers such as Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors, Hyundai, Kia, Mahindra, MG Motors, etc showcased their upcoming vehicles for the Indian market.
