However, with time, this segment does make sense because of the practicality and comfort it offers alongside the sportier design language that attracts a lot of attention on the road. Today, the all-new Honda NT1100 has made its global debut and to be precise, it does sound like a perfect sports tourer, at least on paper.

Design & Features

Being a sports tourer, the main motive of the updated NT1100 is to provide an ample amount of comfort to the rider as well as the pillion. Starting at the front, it is fully faired while featuring twin LED headlamps, DRLs, a tall windscreen, wing mirrors and LED signal lamps.

Offered in several different shades including – Pearl Glare White, Matte Iridium Gray Metallic and Graphite Black, it is expected to attract a lot of attention on the road.

Feature-wise, the Japanese bike manufacturer has decently loaded it with a 6.5-inch TFT touchscreen instrument console, multiple USB ports, LED taillamp and smartphone connectivity via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto among others.

Hardware

Based on the semi-double steel cradle platform and a bolt-on aluminium subframe, it sits on an adjustable 43mm USD fork from Showa upfront. The rear monoshock setup is also powered by Showa and is adjustable for preload.

Braking duties for this updated bike are managed by dual 310mm front discs and a single 256mm rear disc. Interestingly, this setup comes assisted by a dual-channel ABS for riders’ safety.

Engine

Powering the new NT1100 is a 1084cc twin-cylinder engine that is truly capable of propelling a massive 101BHP @ 7250 RPM and 104Nm @ 6250 RPM. According to the spec sheet, this unit is either mated to a 6-speed manual or an automatic DCT gearbox.

Is it a hardcore sports bike? Definitely not as the brand has decided to pitch the all-new Suzuki GSX-S1000GT as a tourer. Power on the updated bike is propelled by a 999cc four-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine with an overall output rated at 152PS and 106Nm while being mated to a 6-speed manual transmission.

In terms of features, it packs a lot of crucial features including twin-pod LED headlamps, smartphone connectivity, cruise control, all-LED lighting and traction control among others. According to Suzuki, the new GSX-S1000GT will be available with three exclusive shades, namely – Metallic Triton Blue, Glass Sparkle Black and Metallic Reflective Blue.
