Compass was updated last year and since then, car buyers are waiting for the Trailhawk version to arrive soon. The last-gen model was a crucial part of the lineup and therefore, the American brand was under pressure to launch it again for a similar kind of experience. 2022 Jeep Compass Trailhawk
What’s different?
To stand apart from the regular model, Compass Trailhawk features some minor cosmetic makeovers. The old sportier bumpers have been replaced with more rugged units. Meanwhile, to ensure it is capable off the road, Jeep is also offering a raised suspension with a water wading capacity of 482mm.
As claimed by the brand, the edition specific bumpers are there to offer the improved offroad capability.
Inside the cabin, it does feel modern enough with lots of features such as a 360-degree camera, voice commands, a 9-speaker surround sound system, a panoramic sunroof and a massive 10.1-inch infotainment system among others.
Engine & Powertrain
Just like the standard model, the Trailhawk version of Compass comes with a potent 2.0-litre four-cylinder diesel engine. Since the brand calls it a Multijet II unit, the overall output from this motor is currently rated at 170 horsepower and 350Nm of peak torque while being paired to a 9-speed automatic transmission.
Just to ensure that this SUV can handle even the trickiest terrains, Jeep has ensured that it gets an all-wheel-drive system as standard. Apart from several drive modes, Compass Trailhawk is now available with a terrain response ‘Rock’ mode and a slightly better ground clearance to maintain the overall capability.

Volkswagen Tiguan
Just like the updated Compass, even Tiguan is available with an all-wheel-drive system but if it has to go directly against the Trailhawk variant. Then, it is definitely not the most appropriate rival.
Under the hood, the updated Tiguan is available with a sole 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine with overall output rated at 187BHP and 320Nm. Transmission duties for this motor are managed by a 7-speed DSG where power is channelled to all four wheels.
