Lexus is the pinnacle of luxury at least for the domestic market. To begin with, the Japanese brand competes with some well established German rivals such as Mercedes-Benz, BMW and Audi. Think about a brand that competes with such amazing carmakers and still got its unique identity. Well, that is Lexus for you.

Since the pandemic situation is getting slightly better, many carmakers are now coming up with their new offerings. Lexus has recently introduced the 2022 Lexus NX and to sum it up, the updated crossover looks mature and bolder than ever.

Design & Exterior

In terms of design, the carmaker has definitely tried to retain the iconic look. But to precise, there are multiple changes that complement the modern design language to a greater extent. To start with, the large spindle grille with the ‘L’ emblem does feel great while fulfilling its ulterior purpose of providing adequate cooling.

Next is obviously the rear end that comes with large ‘LEXUS’ lettering on the tailgate. Similarly, a full-width taillamp is there to further express the modern design language.

Full marks to Lexus for the interior updates. The all-new Lexus NX now gets an intuitive 9.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Apart from this, a multi-functional steering wheel, 7-inch multi-information display, heated front seats, wireless charging, panoramic moonroof, automatic climate control, etc allowing it to be feature-rich.

Interestingly, customers can also opt for the 14-inch touchscreen infotainment system as an optional accessory.

Safety Features

To ensure occupants safety, Lexus will continue to offer Safety System+ 3.0 on the NX. To be precise, this system is a combination of Radar Cruise Control, Pre Collision, Pedestrian Detection Braking and Oncoming Vehicle Detection among others.

Engine

For now, there are multiple engine options to choose from. The first one is a 2.4-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that churns out 279HP and 430Nm of peak torque. Further, a 205HP, 2.5-litre four-cylinder petrol unit and the same engine that produces 242HP with plug-in hybrid technology onboard are also there to power the 2022 Lexus NX.

In a similar way, the carmaker has also introduced another powerful variant that churns out a massive 306HP.

Alternatives
