Firstly, Suzuki has decided to use an updated version of the Global C platform on the new S-Cross. Even after this minor alteration, the carmaker claims that the dimension numbers have not changed and remain exactly the same with length rated at 4300mm, width at 1785mm and height at 1585mm. The all-new Suzuki S-Cross also boasts a wheelbase that stands at 2600mm just like the outgoing variant.

Talking about the front profile, it gets a major makeover in the form of a pair of new LED headlamps, a big radiator grille, a revised bonnet hood and a reprofiled bumper to name a few. Surprisingly, the new S-Cross is in its third-gen avatar but the side profile is still there to remind you of the older counterparts. The Japanese brand has slightly tweaked the wheel arches with a set of 17-inch alloy wheels for the sake of update.

At the back, it does feel like an all-new crossover with a new tailgate, wraparound treatment for the taillamps and a large diffuser among others. The interior has also received some minor updates in the form of a new floating touchscreen infotainment system. Also, to make it feature-loaded, Suzuki has also introduced ADAS on the global variants.

Engine

Globally, Suzuki S-Cross is available with a 1.4-litre Boosterjet petrol engine. For your information, this unit works in conjunction with a 48V mild-hybrid system to propel an overall out of 127HP and 235Nm. Transmission duties for this setup are still expected to be managed by either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission. Interestingly, Suzuki’s AllGrip AWD system will stay as it is on the top-end variants.

If launched in India, the carmaker will offer the updated crossover with the old 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine. This way, the above-mentioned setup will not make its debut here.

Alternatives

In India, there are no direct rivals to the updated S-Cross yet. For now, just like the older one, it will continue to compete against the entry-level variants of compact SUVs such as Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Nissan Kicks and Renault Duster to name a few. Want to learn more about Creta? Check out all the details related to it down below.
