What to expect?

Frankly speaking, nothing much! Toyota will be updating it only in terms of design and features. So, these changes are just a part of the mid-life updates.

Starting from the outside, it will be getting a makeover at the front with a completely new grille and reprofiled bumper. The new Camry Hybrid from the side is also expected to get new alloy wheels for a fresh look. Apart from these changes, Toyota has even updated the stop lamps to enhance the rear profile.

Inside the cabin, the layout is expected to remain exactly the same. A 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, multifunction steering wheel with paddle shifters, heads-up display, MID screen and push-button stop-start are a part of the dashboard.

As per the sources, it will continue to feature an electric sunroof, auto-folding wing mirrors, electrically adjustable front seats and sunshades to offer an unmatched experience.

Engine & Powertrain

Just like the current generation model, the upcoming Camry will be featuring a 2.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine. Talking about the output, this unit is capable of churning out a decent 178PS and 221Nm while being paired to a CVT gearbox.

Since this premium sedan is only available with a hybrid powertrain, hence, a permanent magnet synchronous motor with a maximum output of 120PS helps in pushing the combined power to a massive 211PS.

Toyota boats that the battery is capable of charging itself and is made up of nickel-metal hydride, unlike the conventional lithium-ion unit. Thankfully, this premium sedan also gets three different power modes, namely – Eco, Normal and Power just to alter the overall performance according to the real-time requirement.

Alternatives

In India, it will be competing against the new Skoda Superb. Undoubtedly, the Czech brand has no plans of introducing a mild-hybrid system on Superb anytime soon. Still, want to learn more about it? Let’s check out all the details related to it down below.
