Exterior and Design

On the outside, the grille has been updated and surprisingly, that’s the most interesting change on the new Glanza. Apart from this, the bumper has been revised, the DRLs now features a slightly different shape and a new set of 16-inch alloy wheels replaces the one available on the new Baleno.

Available in five colour shades, including Red, Silver, Grey, Blue and White, it even offers an individual experience to every buyer.

Interior

The interior of the new Glanza will definitely remind you of the updated Baleno. However, just to differentiate, the carmaker has replaced the steering badge and is also offering a dual-tone finishing for the dashboard.

Feature-wise, it is loaded with a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 360-degree camera, heads-up display, automatic climate control, rear AC vents and a multifunction steering wheel depending upon the variant.

For occupants’ safety, the updated Glanza is available with ABS, ISOFIX child seat mounts, hill hold control and up to six airbags.

Engine

Just like the outgoing model, the 2022 Glanza is powered by a 1.2-litre four-cylinder K series petrol engine. The maximum output from this unit is currently rated at 89PS and 114Nm while being paired to a manual or an AMT gearbox.

One thing that is attracting a lot of attention is that Toyota is claiming that the manual variants are capable of returning overall fuel efficiency of 22.35kmpl. Meanwhile, the automatic variants are offering a slightly better mileage that stands somewhere around 22.94kmpl.

Design-wise, Altroz was the most handsome hatchback in the Indian market (Frankly speaking, it still is). However, with the introduction of the new Baleno and Glanza, this rivalry has intensified.

Powering the Altroz are three powerful engines with overall output rated at 86PS (petrol), 90PS (diesel) and 110PS (turbo petrol). In terms of features, it comes loaded with a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, ambient lighting, dual airbags, cruise control and semi-digital driver’s display to name a few.
