A price tag starting at just Rs.15.49 Lakhs onwards, unmatched safety and lots of road presence, if you are looking for something that matches these criteria, look no further. As we know, Global NCAP has recently tested both Tata Harrier and Safari and rated them with the highest scores ever obtained by a product available in the Indian market, Tata is putting all its efforts into making the new generation Harrier a grand success.

But what does it pack this time? Let’s find out.

Exterior

Just like the outgoing model, the 2023 Tata Harrier looks imposing with a massive road presence. To make the already perfect design more desirable, Tata Motors has tweaked several panels and to be precise, that majorly includes the front and rear portion of the SUV.

The front end of the Harrier is equipped with a new sportier bumper and an entirely refreshed headlamp and fog lamp assembly. Even the front grille is new, above which runs a connected LED DRL with a sequential turn indicator. The carmaker has even tried to offer a more SUV-ish kind of look at the side, as a result, it now gets rugged roof rails and massive 18-inch alloy wheels (available with aero inserts).

Coming to the rear end, it features a similar connected LED lighting for the taillamp. The tailgate on the other hand is powered and can be opened using gestures, just in case your hands are full of luggage.

Interior

The dashboard is completely revamped and reminds you of the Nexon. For starters, the dashboard has been updated with premium materials and even the panels are smoother when compared to the older model.

Proudly sitting at the centre is a 31.42 cms high-resolution touchscreen infotainment system that features Apple CarPlay and Android Auto that too with wireless connectivity. Then, on the driver’s end, there is a new steering wheel behind which sits a 26.03 cm fully digital display with all the required information including speedometer, odometer, clock, gear position indicator, navigation, etc. You name it. The carmaker has also tried to make it more fun. The result is Tata Harrier now features a 10-speaker surround sound system. Taking the experience to another level are the audio modes that fine-tune the sound according to the needs and wants of the customers.

Next is the centre console, the entire panel is clutter-free now replacing the older handbrake with a more sophisticated electronic parking brake with auto hold function. Tata has also introduced a wireless charger alongside a 45W C-Type Charger so you never run out of battery.

In terms of features, the new Harrier is loaded up to the brim with a cooled front armrest, air purifier, wireless phone charger, sunshades for rear windows, dual-zone climate control, ventilation for the front seats and electrically adjustable driver and co-passenger seats to name a few.

Safety Aids

Both Harrier and Safari recently scored a full 5-star rating at the Global NCAP. Well, that’s a testament to how particular Tata Motors has been about safety. The SUV boasts that it uses a Land Rover-derived platform plus there are now a maximum of seven airbags to make it even safer.

Other basic safety features such as ESP, ABS, tyre pressure monitoring system and ADAS have also been introduced on the 2023 Harrier.
