Lamborghini has sold 100 units of Urus in India. The luxury SUV despite being expensive has outperformed in the Indian market.

Lamborghini Urus crossed the 50-unit sales mark back in 2019. However, the ongoing pandemic did hamper the sale of the luxury SUV to a great extent. But now, the Italian carmaker is again back on track as they complete the 100 unit benchmark within a year.

HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Lamborghini has sold 100 units of Lamborgini Urus in India.
  • The Italian carmaker reached the 50 unit mark within few months of its launch.
  • It comes powered by a 650HP, 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine.

Exterior

Based on the MLB Evo platform by VW Group, Urus shares its underpinning with many other luxury SUVs. In terms of design, it looks similar to its supercar siblings. However, being an SUV, Lamborghini Urus comes equipped with large 23-inch alloy wheels wrapped by Pirelli rubber. Apart from this, even the disc brakes on the Urus are the biggest in the luxury car segment.

Inside the big bull, one can notice the fighter jet kind of layout with two large screens on offer. The first one is reserved for a touchscreen infotainment system that comes paired with an 8-speaker Bang & Olufsen surround sound system. Also, the other screen is there for the all-digital instrument cluster. The rear seat space is also more than adequate inside unlike any conventional Lamborghini. Apart from this, the boot space of the Urus stands at a massive 616 litres.

Engine

Under the hood, Lamborghini Urus comes powered by a 4.0-litre turbocharged V8 engine that is capable of producing a massive 650BHP of power @ 6000 RPM and 850Nm of torque @ 2250 RPM. Well, this does not end there as this SUV is capable of going from 0-100kmph in just 3.6 seconds with a top speed of 305 kmph. Further, transmission duties on the Urus are handled by an 8-speed automatic gearbox with a four-wheel drive powertrain.
