After Baleno, Maruti Suzuki Introduces Updated Version Of Wagon R In India

The new Baleno was launched successfully last week and now, it is time to introduce the updated Maruti Suzuki Wagon R that comes with several updates and two new but not soo new engine options.

The Indian brand has priced the revised hatchback at Rs.5.39 Lakhs that goes all the way till Rs.7.10 Lakh (all prices, ex-showroom, Delhi) for the top-end variant.

What’s new?

Two dual-tone shades called Magma Grey and Gallant Red have been added to the palette. Thankfully, both of them are available with a blacked-out roof and this way, these shades feel sportier in comparison with the standard ones.

Finally, Maruti Suzuki has also launched 14-inch alloy wheels for the Wagon R. Also, from now onwards, it will feature the brand’s latest 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with a 4-speaker music system on the high-end variants.

Engine & Powertrain

The most crucial changes are related to powertrains. Unlike the outgoing model, this new one comes with either a K10B or K12M. To be a little more precise, the former one is a 1.0-litre three-cylinder engine with overall output rated at 67HP and 89Nm of peak torque.

There’s even a powerful 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine that is capable of churning out a decent 88.5HP and 113Nm. For transmission duties, both of them are available with a manual as well as automatic gearbox depending upon the variant.
