Hyundai Alcazar

Exterior & Design

Everybody knows that the all-new Hyundai Alcazar is based upon the younger sibling – the Hyundai Creta. In terms of characteristics, it might remain similar to the younger one but there are subtle changes such as the reworked front grille, large 18-inch alloy wheels, side footsteps, honeycomb LED taillamps and twin tip exhausts just for a premium stance.

Dimension-wise, it is obviously larger than the Creta. To be precise, the length of the Alcazar stands at 4500mm, width at 1790mm, height at 1675mm and wheelbase of 2760mm which is again best in the segment.

Multiple colour shades are there as a part of the palette. It starts with six single tone colours including – Taiga Brown, Polar White, Phantom Black, Typhoon Silver, Titan Grey and Start Night. Also, there are two dual-tone exterior shades, precisely – Polar White with Phantom Black roof and Titan Grey with Phantom Black roof.

Interior

The most important part about the Hyundai Alcazar is the interior layout. The cabin is either available as a 6 or a 7-seater.

Premium soft-touch materials with multiple best in segment features including an 8-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat, one-touch tumble for the second row, retractable table (second row), air purifier, rear window sunshade, ambient lighting, 8-speaker bose surround sound system, 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster and a large panoramic sunroof are there to further enhance the overall ambience inside the cabin.

On the safety fronts, the new Alcazar will feature a 360-degree parking camera, ESC, tyre pressure monitoring system, 6 airbags, etc among others.

Engine & Powertrain

Performance is not at all an issue. With a 2.0-litre four-cylinder MPi petrol engine onboard, the new Alcazar churns out a massive 159PS of power and a peak torque of 191Nm. Ask for a more fuel-efficient motor and there arrives a 1.5-litre four-cylinder diesel unit. The overall output from this one stands at 115PS and 250Nm of torque.

Transmission duties for both these engines are handled by either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox. For added convenience, customers can surely opt for the latter one.

The usability of drive modes depends upon vehicle to vehicle. For the Alcazar, it is something crucial as Hyundai has introduced it to change the driving dynamics as per the requirement. Three drive modes including – Comfort, Eco and Sport are currently there on the all-new SUV.

According to the brand, the 1.5-litre diesel engine returns a claimed mileage of 20.4kmpl. Similarly, the other one can be expected to return a fuel efficiency of somewhere around 14.5kmpl.
