Aprilia first showcased its RS660 at the EICMA 2019. However, the Italian manufacturer has been working on it for the last two years. But the ongoing pandemic seems to be one of the prime reasons for the delay as Italy was among the worst-hit nations.

However, the company has now revealed the Aprilia RS660 through a promotional video. The company is all set to start the pre-booking of the middleweight sports bike from October. Meanwhile, Aprilia has not revealed the launch date for the same.

As per the video, the Aprilia RS660 does not get an exact riding position as per a sports bike. However, the pillion seat which was not a part of the showcased Aprilia Rs660 is there among one of the accessories. The three part-LED headlights with DRLs and the rear which is similar to the RSV4 looks flawless on the Aprilia RS660. Meanwhile, other features such as the switchgear cluster, high spec radial brake calipers, aluminium beam frame and swingarm make it more appealing.

The engine that powers the Aprilia RS660 is a 660-cc parallel-twin V4 unit that produces a maximum output of around 100Ps. Meanwhile, this particular unit is derived from the engine that powers the Aprilia RSV4.

However, Aprilia is offering safety features including the cornering ABS, multi-level traction control, wheelie control, etc. on the Aprilia RS660. The Aprilia RS660 will come with 5 different riding modes as well.

The instrument cluster on the Aprilia RS660 is a 5-inch TFT display that comes with the Bluetooth connectivity feature. Meanwhile, the brakes are Brembo unit while the ABS is powered by Bosch.

Aprilia RS660 will rival the Honda CBR 650R, Kawasaki Ninja 650, ZX-6R and KTM Duke 790.
