2022 Audi Q7
Exterior & Design
For your information, this same facelifted model made its global debut back in 2019. It might be an older version of the Q7 for many other markets but in India, everyone is going to enjoy its presence for sure. Starting with the front profile, it comes with a new grille, revised headlamps and reprofiled bumper with large air intakes. The side profile now features a new set of chunky alloy wheels while it is the rear end that now comes with slightly tweaked taillamps in the form of a revision for MY2022.
Interior
Inside the cabin, the upcoming Audi Q7 stays aligned with other updated models. The dashboard has finally been revised to incorporate lots of new elements including a flat-bottom multifunction steering wheel, a fully digital driver’s display, a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a slightly smaller screen sitting just below for the air-con control.
The brand has even improvised the comfy seats and leather upholstery. Also, to make it even practical, Audi has decided to equip Q7 with a larger panoramic sunroof and a Bang and Olufsen surround sound system.
Engine & Powertrain
Just like the outgoing model, Audi is expected to arrive with a 252HP, 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo petrol engine assisted by a mild-hybrid system as standard. The brand has firmly decided to drop the diesel variants and that might push them to introduce a powerful 3.0-litre turbocharged V6 motor.
Transmission duties for the updated SUV will be managed by an 8-speed automatic gearbox. Also, to retain its capability, the Q7 facelift will continue to get the brand’s Quattro all-wheel-drive system as standard.
Alternatives
When launched, Q7 is going to compete with some well-established SUVs including Volvo XC90, Mercedes-Benz GLS, BMW X5 and Land Rover Discovery. Want to learn more about the XC90? Here are some important facts related to it down below.
Volvo XC90
Safety has always been Volvo’s topmost priority but from the past few years, they have also emerged as an all-rounder. Some good SUVs and sedans are a part of their portfolio but if particularly talking about the XC90, then it does sound like the most practical of the lot. Available with a seven-seater layout and powerful 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine, it is truly capable just like the upcoming Q7. Feature-wise, Volvo XC90 is fully equipped with a large panoramic sunroof, fully-digital driver’s display, 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system and four-zone climate control. For occupants safety, the Swedish brand has stuffed this SUV with a host of safety aids including seven airbags, ABS, blind-spot detection and adaptive cruise control to name a few.
