With the Auto Expo 2018 just around the corner, the world is eagerly waiting for the new car launches, concept showcases and the future of mobility.
The largest gathering of auto manufacturers in India saw at least 20+ model launches, in numerous concepts and many hybrid/electric vehicle showcase.
Scheduled to take place from 9-14 February 2018 at India Expo Mart in Greater Noida, the Auto Expo 2018 saw a big battle between India’s largest 3 car manufacturers – Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, and Tata – all of which showcased their premium hatchbacks. Then there are electric cars like Ioniq EQ and Mercedes EQ Concept.
Commenting on the highlights of the motor show, SIAM Director General Vishnu Mathur said, “It is the biggest platform for the Indian automobile industry to showcase its journey towards the future of Mobility in India[TM], with competitive and world-class products, technology and futuristic concept.
Ghosn handed over the chief executive reins at Nissan last year but stayed on as chairman, in large part to focus more on turning around Mitsubishi, where he is also chairman.
There were 25 EVs showcased in this edition of the expo and a total of 11 start-ups marked presence, SIAM said.
SIAM Deputy Director General Sugato Sen the extension of the expo by one day from the previous edition received good response from visitors and manufacturers alike.
