In recent times, Bajaj has started updating its portfolio to stay relevant in such a competitive market. Surprisingly, even their new products look promising. Earlier, Bajaj Auto did a fantastic job in the same segment when they introduced the NS160. Now, it’s time to recapture the segment throne and that’s the only why Bajaj Pulsar N160 has been rolled out.

So, are the changes only limited to the moniker that misses out on ‘S’? Not really as there are multiple changes from the ground up. To begin with, the proportions are tighter than ever with a sleek middle section. Even the seats are well contoured with a new exhaust that comes with a perfect note (not too loud).

Built on an entirely new platform, Pulsar N160 is also blessed with enough precision. Higher torsional rigidity has helped the brand to offer an unmatched handling experience to the rider. Thankfully, the N160 is available with a mono-shock rear suspension that works extremely well with the entire setup. Stopping duties on the other hand is managed by a 300mm disc at the front and a 230mm disc at the rear.

The front section of the new Pulsar N160 comes with a bi-functional LED headlight. With a similar modern approach, Bajaj has even introduced an infinity rider’s display that shows crucial information including distance to empty and gear position indicator. At the heart, the bike has been equipped with a 165cc engine which is compliant with the latest emission norms. As claimed by the spec sheet, this power unit is capable of churning out a decent 16PS of power and 14.65Nm of peak torque while being paired to a new gearbox.

At the time of the media briefing, Sarang Kanade, President of Bajaj Auto Motorcycles said, “Twenty years ago, Pulsar pioneered the sports-motorcycling revolution in India. The Pulsar 250, the biggest ever Pulsar, launched on the new platform in October 2021, received a tremendous response from customers, enthusiasts and experts alike. We are excited to extend the new platform to the 160cc segment. The new Pulsar N160 packs an exciting proposition that is built to deliver the perfect street riding experience”.

Price and Rivals: Bajaj Pulsar N160

With a price tag starting at Rs.1.27 Lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi), Bajaj Pulsar N160 is set to compete with other 160cc bikes including Suzuki Gixxer, TVS Apache RTR 160 4V and Hero Xtreme 160R to name a few.
