Design
To begin with, the updated naked superbike will be available in three different variants including – Standard, Pro and Pro M Sport. To be precise, it has received a thorough makeover with a revised headlamp setup, muscular fuel tank, reworked rear section and a new LED taillamp among others.
A variety of colour options have been introduced this time on the BMW S 1000 R. Just to name a few, the updated superbike gets Racing Red (non-metallic), Hockenheim Silver (metallic) and M Motorsport edition specific livery according to the variants.
Features & Electronic Aids
Being a modern superbike, it should be available with some futuristic features. Keeping this in mind, the German bike manufacturer has introduced a coloured 6.5-inch TFT display with smartphone connectivity and navigation onboard.
For rider’s safety, the 2021 BMW S 1000 R will come equipped with multi-level traction control, wheelie control, cornering ABS and multiple ride modes among others.
Engine & Other Details
At the heart, the updated BMW S 1000 R features a Euro-5/BS6 compliant 999cc four-cylinder engine. To put everything in numbers, this motor churns out a massive 162BHP @ 11,000 RPM and 114Nm of peak torque @ 9,250 RPM.
Surprisingly, it uses a lighter Flex frame when compared to the outgoing model as its underpinning.
