Nobody anticipates Bentley as a performance car brand even after they offer some best in class W12 motors. For many of us, the British brand is the epitome of luxury but few could have thought that the carmaker will ever do something unconventional. Bentley did surprise everyone with the introduction of Continental GT Speed and Bentayga Speed. Confused? To be precise, the Speed series was a power-packed version of the existing lineup.

The carmaker already stated that they will be working on the existing lineup. And according to the plan, Bentley has revealed the all-new Bentayga S that is nothing but a sportier version of the luxury SUV.

HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Bentley Bentayga S is the all-new sportier product from the British marque.
  • It will continue to get a 542BHP, 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 petrol engine.
  • Multiple sportier elements inside out can be witnessed on the Bentayga S.

Exterior & Design

The exterior of the sportier Bentayga remains similar to the regular one. But to differentiate, Bentley has introduced certain specific elements such as black wing mirrors as well as similarly coloured side sills. Also, the headlights and taillamps on the Bentayga S come finished with a dark tint treatment.

At the rear, the SUV now gets a large rear spoiler to provide an ample amount of aerodynamic stability. Further, the sports exhausts and unique badging are there to enhance the overall look.

Interior

Nothing much has changed inside the cabin of the all-new Bentayga S except the Alcantara finishing. Just to make sure that the SUV feels performance-oriented Bentley has introduced a similar treatment to the steering wheel, gear level, start cushions and upper trim among others.

Customers will still get the freedom to choose among the four, five and seven-seat layout. Just to differentiate it from the regular Bentayga, this one will get the ‘S’ badging on seat backrests. Apart from this, the fully digital instrument cluster, touchscreen infotainment display and other features continue to be as it is.

Engine & Performance

The powerful SUV continues to come with a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine. Coming to the numbers, it is truly capable of producing a massive 542BHP of power and 770Nm of torque while allowing Bentayga S to do a 0-100kmph sprint in just 4.5 seconds. The top speed of the SUV is also impressive and to be precise, it stands at 290kmph.

Interestingly, the company does offer a 48V mild-hybrid technology to provide a sudden burst of power. As claimed by the carmaker, this entire system can react within a fraction of seconds with up to 1,300Nm to ensure maximum stability over time. Also, the all-new Bentley Bentayga S will be featuring the SPORT modes that remain very similar to what we have already witnessed on the Speed variant of Bentayga.

Alternatives

Globally, Bentley Bentayga competes with Audi RS Q8, Rolls Royce Cullinan, Mercedes Maybach GLS, Lamborghini Urus and Aston Martin DBX among others. Want to know more about its prime rival? Take a look at the Lamborghini Urus right below.
