Better late than never, Bentley has decided to start the electrification process by introducing a mild hybrid system on their upcoming offerings. Earlier, we reported that Flying Spur will be the first model to get this treatment. And as expected, the British brand is here with a Flying Spur Hybrid but it is a special version of the same called Odyssean Edition.

With this step, Bentley has also marked its first step towards electrification. Even, this unveil is proof that the brand is working according to the Beyond100 strategy that they have planned sometime back. Exterior

So what’s special outside. Not going to lie, but the entire Flying Spur looks absolutely striking from the outside. Some minor edition-specific updates are there to bring a major difference. To begin with, the luxury sedan now runs on large 21-inch alloy wheels that gets Pale Brodgar finishing.

In total, there are six new exterior shades that have been introduced for the first time. However, options from the standard Flying Spur will continue to be offered with this edition as well.

Interior

Inside the cabin, the new Flying Spur Hybrid Odyssean Edition will feature a new centre console finished smartly with a Piano Linen veneer. Also, leather upholstery with several colour options including Brunel, Beluga, Burnt Oak, Porpoise or Cricketball leather is there to offer multiple customisation options to the customers.

New mats for the floor with contrast binding also enhances the overall ambience inside. Feature-wise, it remains exactly the same when compared to the standard counterpart.

Engine

Powering the Flying Spur Hybrid Odyssean Edition is a 2.9-litre V6 engine. Well, this time it’s not alone because of the electric motor. The overall output from both of them is rated at 536BHP and 750Nm with a drooling 700kms range with a fully fueled up tank.

As claimed by the brand, the new luxury sedan can clock a triple-digit speed in just 4.3 seconds. The V8 version of the same is slightly faster when compared head-on.
