BMW India has recently launched the all-new 2 Series Gran Coupe with a petrol variant with a price tag of Rs.40.90 Lakh. This new offering from the German carmaker comes with a 2.0L BMW TwinPower Turbo petrol engine and is only available as the M Sport variant. Another interesting fact about the recently launched BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe is that it is locally produced as a CKD model at the BMW Group Plant, Chennai.

Updates

The regular variant of the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe is available in four color schemes, including –

  • Alpine White,
  • Storm Bay,
  • Melbourne Red and
  • Black Sapphire.

Further for the M Sport variant, BMW has introduced two new color schemes like Misano Blue and Snapper Rocks. Customers can now also choose the upholstery between Sensatec Black and Sensatec Oyster Black.

Engine

The recently introduced 1998cc four-cylinder turbocharged petrol motor churns out a massive 190HP along with a peak torque of 280Nm. Further, it comes mated to an 8-speed torque converter gearbox with a paddle shifter and front-wheel drive powertrain. Performance-wise, the all-new BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe 220i M Sport can do a 0-100 kmph sprint in just 7.1 seconds. Whereas, mileage of this entry-level luxury sedan stands at 14.82 kmpl as claimed by the ARAI.

BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe works as an entry-level luxury sedan in India. Meanwhile, with a petrol engine onboard, there are now multiple options available for the customers to choose from. Further, direct rivals such as the Mercedes Benz A-Class Limousine and Audi A3 are yet to arrive in the Indian market.
