S-Class might be the ultimate segment leader according to many of us but even these two luxury sedans are highly capable of delivering what they promise. The new 7-Series with its angry look and the A8L with a lot of road presence till now have been the underrated products. Thankfully, being flagship models we still consider them as a status symbol just like any other business-class vehicle.

Today, we have the all-new BMW 7-Series and the mighty Audi A8L with us and if you are interested in any one of them? Then, let’s figure out which is one is better and why.

The massive grille at the front might disappoint you but there are several other things about the new BMW 7-Series that could be a reason why so many new customers route for it. For starters, it is available with multiple powertrains keeping in mind the different kinds of buyers.

Starting with the 730Ld variant that comes equipped with a 3.0-litre six-cylinder diesel unit. According to the carmaker, this one is capable of churning out a decent 261BHP and 620Nm because of which it is even a best seller in the Indian market. There’s even a powerful 3.0-litre petrol engine with overall output rated at 335HP and 450Nm that goes directly against the likes of Audi A8’s 55 TFSI variant. Interestingly, BMW is also retailing the 6.0-litre V12 (760Li) model in India but that is going to cost you a lot of extra bucks for sure.

The German brand has really tried its best to offer a differentiated interior. Sadly, the front row does remind you of other BMW models so, it does not feel any different. The rear section is definitely well-tailored just like a cabin inside any private jet. In terms of features, BMW has loaded it up to the brim with a large 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, panoramic sunroof, six airbags, twin screens for the second row and a 16-speaker Harman Kardon surround sound system just to name a few.

Elegance is the only word that perfectly describes the Audi A8L. Surprisingly, the German marque has recently updated it for the global market and the model that was revealed is expected to arrive in India anytime soon.

The current-gen model that is available here comes with a sole 55 TFSI trim. This way, Audi only retails a single fully-loaded variant with a 3.0-litre six-cylinder petrol engine that comes assisted by a mild-hybrid system. The overall output from the entire setup is rated at 335HP and 500Nm while being paired to an eight-speed automatic gearbox. When compared to its rivals, the refinement levels are really high and that is another reason why you can prefer it over any other luxury sedan.

Feature-wise, it is one of the loaded models with a large 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, dedicated screen for climate control, 8 airbags, 23-speaker surround sound system, panoramic sunroof, Matrix LED headlamps, headlight washer and electric sunshades among others.
