BMW has launched the most awaited BMW M340i xDrive in India. The company has priced the all-new sedan at Rs.62.9 Lakhs (ex-showroom, New Delhi) while making it one of the most affordable performance cars here. Interestingly, BMW M340i xDrive is the first M Performance car to be locally assembled. Therefore, this is the only reason BMW has priced it in such an aggressive manner.

These German cars do not require any introduction and therefore we will not be giving one. In terms of looks, the all-new BMW M340i xDrive remains similar to the standard 3 Series. However, there are subtle changes on the bumper, a redesigned front grille, snappy exhausts and ofcourse the sunset orange color scheme that makes it look far sportier than the regular BMW 3 Series. Apart from this, it also comes equipped with BMW’s Laserlight headlamp setup as standard.

Inside the cabin, one might be able to notice the Alcantara finishing alongside the sports seats. Also, in terms of features, it will be available with a multi-functional M-specific steering wheel, Harman Kardon surround sound system, 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with 7.0 iDrive OS and head-up display among others. The infotainment system on the BMW M340i now supports wireless Apple CarPlay as well as Android Auto.

Mechanically, the performance sedan comes with M-specific – suspension, brakes and a limited-slip differential. Meanwhile, even the ride height of the BMW M340i is lower than the regular 3 Series by somewhere around 10mm. Under the hood, it gets a 3.0-litre six-cylinder turbo petrol motor that is capable of producing a massive 374HP alongside 500Nm of torque. Further, it comes mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox with BMW’s xDrive all-wheel drive powertrain as standard. Performance-wise, it can go from 0-100kmph in just 4.4 seconds while the top speed is limited to 250kmph.

BMW is already accepting bookings for the M340i against a token amount of Rs.1 Lakhs. Meanwhile, customers will also be getting an option to choose the additional packages including Racer’s pack, Enthusiast pack and Motorsport pack.
