Young enthusiasts believe in travelling the roads less travelled. As a result, there is a significant hike in the demand for adventure tourers among the young buyers in India. We reported earlier, that BMW Motorrad is coming up with their R 1250 GS range and finally they have launched it as a CBU unit against a starting price tag of Rs.20.45 Lakhs (ex-showroom, pan India).

2021 BMW R 1250 GS & R 1250 GS Adventure

There are lots of new features such as the Dynamic Traction Control, Engine Brake Control, Integral ABS Pro, Hill Start Control Pro and 6-axis IMU introduced for the first time. Surprisingly, customers who wish to opt for the cornering headlights will be free to do so.

Both the new tourers are now available with a new palette of colours, where the regular BMW R 1250 GS gets Solid White and Triple Black shades. In a similar way, the Adventure version of the same comes with Triple Black and ice grey among others.

Another interesting bit about the all-new R 1250 GS range is the ’40 Years GS Edition’. According to the pictures available online, it gets a tinted wind visor, edition specific colour shades, yellow seat and spoke wheels finished in golden.

Other standard features including multiple ride modes, USB socket, full LED lighting and TFT instrument cluster will continue to be a part of the updated R 1250 GS range.

Engine

A BS6 compliant 1254cc twin-cylinder motor churning out a massive 136HP and 143Nm of peak torque is there to power the all-new R 1250 GS range. Interestingly, BMW has also introduced the ShiftCam technology that aids better performance and added fuel efficiency simultaneously with Eco mode available as standard.

Price

The price of the standard R 1250 GS starts at Rs.20.45 Lakhs. Similarly, the R 1250 GS Adventure comes priced at Rs.22.40 Lakhs (up by Rs.5,000). All prices are ex-showroom, pan India and introductory. We expect BMW Motorrad to slightly increase them as soon as the offer ends.
