The new X5 is big and is usually considered a family SUV. In addition to this, it can even do mild offroading which makes it an all-rounder. To make it even more accessible, BMW has finally introduced the X5 SportX Plus trim in India that starts at Rs.77.90 Lakhs and goes all the way up to Rs.79.50 Lakhs (all prices, ex-showroom, Delhi) for the diesel variant.

BMW X5 SportX Plus

Features

On the outside, these slightly affordable variants feature LED headlamps, premium functional roof rails and large alloy wheels.

Similarly, inside the cabin, the all-new BMW X5 SportX Plus comes equipped with 4-zone climate control, paddle shifters, ambient lighting, panoramic glass roof, sunblinds and electrically adjustable seats among others. Also, twin 12.3-inch screens for touchscreen infotainment display and instrument cluster are also there to make it tech-loaded. Other features including a wireless charger, gesture control, heads-up display, etc are also a part of the equipment list.

Engine & Performance

To begin with, there are two different variants of the SportX Plus trim. The first one is of course the xDrive30d that comes powered by a 3.0-litre six-cylinder diesel engine. The overall output from this unit is rated at 261BHP and 620Nm of peak torque. There’s even a similarly displaced xDrive40i petrol variant that churns out a massive 335HP with a peak torque of 450Nm. Currently, both of them gets an 8-speed automatic transmission and a four-wheel drive system as standard.

According to the German brand, the first variant can clock a triple-digit speed in 6.5 seconds. Meanwhile, it is the petrol version that claims to be faster by around 1 second.

Safety

In terms of safety, the X5 SportX Plus variant comes equipped with all the crucial features such as 6 airbags, traction control, hill start assist and descent control to name a few.
