Fuel prices are soaring high and this time, buyers really need an alternative that can be blindly trusted. The EV market is clearly emerging but talking about the infrastructure and reliability then it still needs to be resolved. Frankly speaking, it will take some time for customers to fully trust it. Honda is finally going to start the electrification process in India but before, a fully-fledged electric vehicle, the Japanese brand has decided to come up with reliable hybrid technology for the best selling Honda City.

Bookings for this new sedan have started at the dealership level. But before finalising anything, let’s check out all the related details down below.

HIGHLIGHT:

  • Bookings for Honda City Hybrid have started in India.
  • It is expected to get revealed in the coming few days.
  • Also expected to get a price tag of around Rs.18 Lakhs.

Honda City Hybrid

Excited about this new sedan? Well, let’s talk about the most crucial element and that is its powertrain. For starters, City Hybrid will come powered by a 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine. Thankfully, the output from this power unit remains exactly the same at 97BHP and 127Nm. Out of surprise, Honda is also offering twin electric motors powering the front wheels to propel a massive 108BHP and 253Nm.

City Hybrid can also be Honda’s first product in India to get the brand’s Sensing Technology. To readers who are unaware of this tech, it is simply the Advanced Driver’s Assistance System with features like front collision warning, high beam assist, adaptive cruise control and lane departure warning to name a few.

Wondering how much it is expected to cost? Sources suggest that the all-new Honda City Hybrid is expected to come with a hefty price tag of somewhere around Rs.18 Lakhs (Ex-showroom, Delhi). As expected, the hybrid powertrain will remain limited to the top-end variants only.
