Mercedes-Benz EQC

Exterior

Based on the GLC, it doesn’t share most of the components with the ICE counterpart. The redesigned front grille, new headlamps, roof-mounted spoiler and multi-spoke 20-inch alloy wheels further differentiate it from the original GLC.

Interior & Safety

Hop inside the cabin and there one might be able to fight a typical Mercedes affair. For starters, it comes with a neatly finished dashboard with a multi-functional steering wheel behind which sits a 12.3-inch fully digital instrument cluster. There’s even a similarly sized touchscreen infotainment system with a host of vehicle-related information. Other features including a panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, panoramic sunroof and USB charging port are also available to make it a feature-loaded offering.

To protect the occupants inside, Mercedes-Benz has decided to offer seven airbags, blind spot assist, electronic stability program (ESP), lane departure warning and active brake assist to name a few. The all-new EQC also boasts a Global NCAP 5-star rating that makes it one of the safest electric cars available in India.

Powerplant & Charging

Since Mercedes-Benz EQC is an all-electric vehicle from the German marque, it comes powered by an 80kWh lithium-ion battery pack. Using twin asynchronous motors, this entire setup can propel a massive 408HP and 700Nm of peak torque allowing the SUV to clock a triple-digit speed in just 5.1 seconds. The overall range from the EQC is quite decent and comes rated at somewhere around 400kms according to the WLTP cycle.

A 7.5kW wall box charger can fully juice up the entire battery in just 10 hours. However, in case of rush, users can go for a 50kW DC charger that charges the battery pack from 0 to 80 per cent in just 90 minutes.

Alternatives

In India, Mercedes-Benz EQC compares with some new competitors in the form of Audi e-Tron and Jaguar I-Pace. Want to learn more about the I-Pace? Check out the details down below.
