The FIA and Formula One, today confirmed that the BWT Racing Point’s driver Sergio Pérez tested positive for the virus and will miss the British Grand Prix.

After an inconclusive report, the Mexican driver isolated himself and remained away from the circuit until a report confirmed.

Previously, Australian GP was canceled when a crew member of Mclaren tested positive for Covid-19. A similar situation has emerged dramatically.

Formula One now, have no plan to cancel the British Grand Prix and will go as per the schedule. The British Grand Prix to be held on Sunday, 2 August at the Silverstone Circuit. Broadcasting in India starts at 6:40 PM.

While addressing the media, FIA and Formula One stated that “Pérez has entered self-quarantine in accordance with the instructions of the relevant public health authorities and will continue to follow the procedure mandated by those authorities”.

Meanwhile, Formula One and the FIA remain very particular about the safety protocols since the motorsport has resumed and will continue to do so.

Sergio Pérez becomes the first F1 driver to test positive.

BWT Racing Point’s spokesperson today cleared that all the crew members who were a part of the crew for Sergio Pérez quarantined themselves. And will go through the test accordingly.

According to the sources, Nico Hulkenberg is expected to replace Sergio Pérez. Nico Hulkenberg is being away from the motorsport for some time however, the audience will love to see the German racer back on track.
