Citroen to start trial production of C5 Aircross in India

Groupe PSA has announced to start the trial production of the Citroen C5 Aircross. The launch of the Citroen C5 Aircross was scheduled for September 2020. However, the launch could not happen due to the outbreak of the ongoing pandemic.

The trial production of the C5 Aircross has started at the Tiruvallur Plant in Tamil Nadu. Now, the Citreon C5 Aircross is expected to be launched next year.

The Citroen C5 Aircross to be powered by a 1.6L turbocharged petrol engine that will be producing around 180PS of power and 250Nm of torque. Meanwhile, the 2.0L diesel engine to produce 176Ps of power with an amazing 400Nm of torque.

Recently, the Citreon c5 Aircross has secured a 4-star rating in the Euro NCAP.

Many features such as the panoramic sunroof, 8-inch infotainment system with Apple Carplay and Android Auto, hands-free tailgate, parking sensors both at the front as well as the rear, dual-zone climate control, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, and multiple airbags are expected to be offered.

The price of this SUV to be expected near 20 lakh onwards.

The Global variant is powered by an 8-speed automatic unit. However, in India, a manual gearbox will also be offered.

Citreon C5 Aircross to rival the mid-size SUV such as the Jeep Compass and the Hyundai Tucson.
