Dark colours are usually difficult to maintain as they attract more dust and are even prone to easily visible scratches. However, there is one more reason why one would prefer a lighter shade and that is the amount of heat such dark shades absorb.

Looks like these are no more a concern for the customers. The air conditioners inside the car are now enough to cool the cabin in no time. And thankfully, concepts like ceramic coating have eased the maintenance on the outside allowing the owners to try as many shades as they want.

Recently, the ‘#DARK’ edition of Tata Motors has been receiving a lot of limelight. No wonder Tata has decided to introduce the Nexon EV MAX in the exact same avatar. Priced at Rs.19.04 Lakh onwards (ex-showroom, Delhi), the SUV has a lot to offer.

Want to know more about it? Below are all the details related to the all-new Tata Nexon EV MAX #DARK.

Tata Nexon EV MAX #DARK: What’s new?

In reference to the launch, Mr Vivek Srivatsa, the Head of Marketing, Sales, and Service Strategy at Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd., expressed his views by stating the following: “The Nexon EV is India’s #1 EV and in a short span has been loved and trusted by over 50,000 customers, making it the flagbearer of India’s EV evolution. The #DARK range on the other hand has made a mark for itself too by becoming a popular choice of customers. With the success of the #DARK and the popularity of the Nexon EV MAX, we felt it was the right time to marry the two and present to our customers this new avatar that moves #DARK to MAX.

On the outside, the all-new Tata Nexon EV MAX #DARK is available in Midnight Black shade and the alloy wheels have been finished in Charcoal Grey. Also, there are several #DARK badges available on several panels to tell that this is a special edition.

New Features

The first and foremost change on the entire Nexon EV MAX range is the infotainment system upgrade. A new 10.25-inch high-resolution HARMAN system with a revamped user interface has been introduced and thankfully, it now supports wireless connectivity via Apple CarPlay as well as Android Auto.

There is even a six-language (English, Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu and Marathi) voice assistant. Other than this the music system is now available with a 4-tweeter and 4-speaker combination for more bass and sharp notes.

Powertrain

Last year, a larger lithium-ion battery pack with a capacity of 40.5kWh made its debut on the Nexon EV MAX and the ARAI-certified range of the same was rated at 437 kilometres. The Indian automaker confirmed that the electric SUV would deliver additional power; similarly, even the #DARK edition of the same will produce a massive output of 143PS and 250Nm as confirmed.

Right now, Nexon EV MAX is available with three drive modes including Eco, City and Sport and as claimed by Tata Motors, it is capable of clocking a triple-digit speed in just 9 seconds.

Facing range anxiety? We already told you that the overall range is enough. Interestingly, to charge this EV, customers can go for a 3.3kW AC, 7.2kW AC or a 50kW DC charger depending upon the availability.  The brand also claims that the former charger can juice up the Nexon EV MAX #Dark from 0-80 per cent in just 56 minutes.
