After GST roll out, it is a good time to be in the automobile market. With the introduction of major tax reform GST, several carmakers have passed on the benefits to the customers. They have announced price cuts on several of their models.

Maruti Suzuki, which is India’s largest carmaker is the first automobile company to cut prices by 3% on most of their products.

After GST price cut, Alto, which is famous for its low price and good fuel economy, will now be available at the cheaper price of up to ₹5,400, WagonR by ₹8,300 and Swift by up to ₹10,700. The price of Baleno has also been reduced in the range from ₹6,600- ₹13,100. While the all new Dzire is getting cheaper by up to ₹15,100.

The company have also reduced the price of compact SUV Vitara Brezza ranging between ₹10,400 to ₹14,700. Besides, the prices of S-cross has been cut in the range of ₹17,700 to ₹21,300.

The prices of petrol variants of Ertiga and Ciaz will be reduced by ₹21,800 and ₹23,400 respectively. While their hybrid diesel variants will be costlier due to the withdrawal of tax concession on mild hybrid vehicles under the GST regime.

The rate of reduction varies across locations depending on VAT rates applicable prior to GST and also on the various models of the same car.
