Dominating the Duke: Meet Thor, Lucat and Emflux One

The UM Renegade Thor, Menza Luzcat and Emflux One were showcased at the Auto Expo 2018. All the three being performance bikes, they are faster than the KTM 390 Duke and the Pulsar RS 200. While the Emcat One is a full-fledged performance driven bike, the Lucat is a raw street performance bike and the Thor is a cruiser bike.

The fastest bikes in India with a comfortable pricing are the KTM 390 Duke and the Pulsar RS 200. While the KTM 390 Duke does the top speed of 160 kmph, Pulsar can reach upto 141 kmph. Keeping these speeds in perspective, the UM Renegade Thor has a top speed of 180 kmph. The bike is powered by a 30 KW electric engine which gives 40 BHP and  70 Nm.

Menza, a local manufacturer, launched their first bike called Lucat at the Auto Expo. The Lucat can reach upto a speed of 121 kmph and is a street bike. This bike uses the 72V lithium-ion battery pack that charges in four hours. The electric motor can generate 18 KW of power and 60 Nm. It has a range of 150 kms on the highway.

The best of the three showcased bikes, Emflux One breaks the barriers as India’s first electric superbike. The Emfux One can do 0-100 kmph in just 3 seconds, which is as fast as it can get! Powered by a 60 KW AC induction motor which translates to 84 Nm, This beauty zoom past all other bikes mentioned here with a top speed of an astonishing 200 kmph.

The bikes presented are quite expensive, the Thor being the highest priced at 9.99 lakh. The Emflux One comes for 6 lakhs while theMenza Lucat is the most affordable bike at 2.79 lakhs. These bikes have fully torque output even when idle but are pricey due to their electric engines and the battery used. These electric bikes have successfully dispelled the notion that electric bikes are slower compared to conventional IC engine bikes.
