Italian sports bike manufacturer Ducati will launch an Indian exclusive series ‘Ducati Multistrada 1260’ in India on 19th June. The powerful series will replace ‘ Multistrada 1200’.
Key features to the new Ducati Multistrada 1260
●Engine and power
The bike is powered by new 1262 cm3 Ducati Testastretta DVT engine extends powers even in low gear.It has power of 116,2 kW (158 CV) @ 9.500 rpm and TORQUE of 129.5 Nm (95.5 lb-ft) @ 7,500 rpm .
●DSS and Brembo braking system
Bike is equipped with the Brembo braking system fitted with the ABS 9.1ME Cornering device which seems to be a integral part of the Ducati Safety Pack . Ducati Skyhook Suspension Evolution system (DSS) is included with a sensor that monitors the performance of the rear shock, and a software which also manages the data output by the inertial platform (IMU) using new processing algorithms.
● models
The bike is available in four versions, each with its own distinctive character: Multistrada 1260, Multistrada 1260 S, Multistrada 1260 S D|Air, Multistrada 1260 Pikes Peak. But for the Indian market, only Multistrada 1260 and Multistrada 1260 S will be launched.
● VHC and TFT instrument panel
Multistrada is installed with the Vehicle Hold Control (VHC) system. When activated, the system keeps the vehicle still by activating the rear brake (and automatically deactivates after 9 seconds if it is not used) and a TFT instrument panel with high visibility LCD instrument panel with a new information display and simplified menu management.
● Riding mode and equipment
The bike comes with four riding modes namely Sports Riding mode, Touring Riding mode, Urban Riding mode and Enduro Riding Mode. Some quality equipment retaining from previous version are Ducati Safety Pack (Cornering ABS Bosch + DTC), Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC), Cruise control, Hands-Free, Backlit handlebar controls, Ducati Multimedia System (DMS) ready, Automatic indicator switch off, Anti-theft ready.
●Chassis and design
Along with the WHEELBASE of 1,585 mm (62.4 in) and Seat height of 825 – 845 mm (32.5 – 33.3 in), bike has the sleek surfaces, flowing design and volume difference between the front and rear makes it completely unique design. Multistrada 1260 Pikes Peak is equipped with new forged aluminium wheels,equipped with light alloy rims with five Y-shaped spokes, semi-active type suspension and Swingarm is 48 mm longer.
