Fasten Up Your Seatbelts As McLaren Is All-Set To Expand Its Business In India

Formula 1 and IndyCar are some of the greatest platforms where McLaren has done tremendously well, but how can we forget the real business, their sports car portfolio? The British brand, undoubtedly, has currently got some of the best ones in the world.

India is a growing market for sports cars and for now, there are multiple brands such as Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Ferrari, etc doing their business here. The growth potential is crazy in India and that’s why even McLaren has unveiled its plan about how it will approach the South Asian country soon.

First Showroom Inauguration and Roadshow

The automaker has officially inaugurated its first showroom in Mumbai today. However, the centre of attraction is the brand’s marketing strategy. It deserves a lot of appreciation as McLaren is keen towards creating awareness among its potential customers by kicking off a seven-city road show where people around the country will get to know about it more.

McLaren’s Portfolio For India

McLaren has confirmed that the brand is ready to bring its current global portfolio to India. This way, several important products such as Mclaren 765LT, 765LT Spider, Artura, GT, 720S and 720S Spider are expected to arrive soon for sale. One more interesting part about this expansion is that the after-sales service is also being considered strongly. Earlier, the import models might have been facing such issues but this time the British marque has decided to introduce trained engineers to look after these supercars once they leave the showroom.

Merchandise Business

Many luxury and sports car brands are now playing around with merchandise and McLaren does not want to be any different. While having a quick chat with Autocar India, Paul Harris, MD, McLaren APAC and China said, “Currently our merchandise business is handled by a third party, so that’s where we are currently, but I do see a significant commercial opportunity with this.”

As expected, the Mumbai Showroom is currently there to provide a complete experience of McLaren as a brand but the British marque is firm to explore other parts of India as well.
