Globally, it will roll out to compete with its direct rivals such as the Mercedes Benz GLC, Audi Q5 and BMW X3.

The company has not revealed the exact figures for the Genesis GV70 yet. However, the all-new luxury SUV is expected to get a 2.0L Turbo petrol as well as a 2.2L naturally aspirated diesel engine. These engines produce 245HP and 196HP of power respectively and are very similar to what Genesis offers on its G70 saloon. Meanwhile, as per the sources, the upcoming GV70 shares its platform with Hyundai’s recently updated Tucson.

Coming to the features, the all-new Genesis GV70 comes with a nicely designed grille, quad LED headlamps, coupe kind roofline, dual exhaust pipes, quad taillights, 21-inch alloy wheels, etc. However, inside the cabin, it gets a big touchscreen infotainment system, informative instrument cluster, steering mounted controls and leatherette upholstery.

Genesis will offer two trims on the GV70 including a regular as well as a sport trim. However, as per the looks, the smaller GV70 luxury SUV looks very similar to the GV80.

The company has been planning to set up a plant in India for a long time. For now, the only possible way to buy a Genesis is through the CBU route that results in high import taxes. However, being based on Hyundai Tucson will be easier to assemble the SUV in the country itself.
