Lucknow gets its first premium AC bus from Tata Motors as Urban development minister- of UP-Suresh Kumar Khanna, flagged of the first bus from Alambagh Depot. Lucknow will now receive a consignment of 40 buses from Tata motors in a phased manner within the next four months.
The new buses are state of the art premium AC buses, with 31 seats for the passengers and are being designed keeping in mind the comfort of passengers.
Designed by Tata Motors the bus can travel 150 km in one go. The fast speed recharge station installed at Alambagh depot has been started to ensure the frequency does not gets disturbed. The bus will have two doors (operated automatically) one at front and another at the rear end of the bus, for the smooth and hassle free entry and exit of passengers.
Also, the buses are fitted with large Li-ion battery at the top of it, which once charged fully will ensure an uninterrupted ride of 150 km. The batteries are liquid cooled as Uttar Pradesh is a tropical region with high temperature in the summers, which can potentially damage the batteries.
