Ford Figo has been one of the most underrated hatchbacks in India and that is even for the longest time. Despite being good looking and budget-friendly, the brand couldn’t manage to sell them in large numbers. Well, Ford’s primary idea of offering cars in India is to maintain the premium quality and best in class driving experience which is far away from just numbers. Of course, it counts as their USP. The brand has finally decided not to discontinue the iconic Figo. Instead, they are coming up with the petrol automatic variant of the same very soon.
Want to know what all features it is expected to get? Take a look at the details down below.
HIGHLIGHTS:
- Ford has decided to introduce Figo with a petrol automatic variant.
- To be powered by a 95HP, 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine.
- Expect it to pack features according to the level of variants offered.
Ford Figo
Exterior & Design
In terms of design, the new Figo does look like any other modern hatchback but even after the multiple updates the brand couldn’t introduce an LED headlamp or DRL which is quite disheartening for future buyers. Other than this, it is fully loaded with features such as rain sensing wipers, automatic headlamps, 15-inch alloy wheels, fog lamps, etc just to name a few.
Interior & Features
Talking about the cabin, Ford has done exceptionally well when it comes to the overall quality. A nicely laid out 7-inch touscreen infotainment system with navigation sits at the center. Meanwhile, other features such as automatic climate control, multi-functional steering wheel, 4-speaker sound system, several storage compartments and an analogue instrument cluster are also a part of the equipment list.

Engine & Powertrain
Under the hood, it is available with either a 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol or a 1.5-litre four-cylinder diesel engine. The first one is good for 95HP and 119Nm of peak torque. Meanwhile, it is the latter one that churns out a massive 99HP and 215Nm of peak torque and is even a more fuel efficient option. Currently, both of them are available with a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard.
However, as per the sources, Ford will soon introduce an automatic gearbox for the petrol engine.
Safety Aids
Ford is very particular when it comes to occupants safety. For a safer ride, the all-new Figo comes equipped with six airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors and speed alert among others.
