Harley Davidson Street 750 DiscontinuedImage Source: Indian Autos Blog

Harley Davidson ended all their manufacturing operations in India a few months ago. And due to that, the company also had to stop the production work as well. As a result, it forced Street 750 and Street Rod to leave the Indian market. Interestingly, this duo used to be the chartbusters for the American bike manufacturer.

However, now it looks like Harley Davidson is really having a rough time period. Worried that you won’t be able to own a Harley? For that, the Harley Davidson will work with Hero MotoCorp to bring the bikes in India but only as a CBU unit.

HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Harley Davidson has discontinued the Street 750 and Street Rod in India.
  • It will be offering the other bikes as a Completely Built Up (CBU) unit.
  • The company will not be doing any production work in India anytime soon.

All About Harley Davidson Street 750 & Street Rod

Despite being a heavy motorbike that weighed somewhere around 233kgs, Harley Davidson Street 750 was quite usable. At the heart, it was available with a powerful 750cc twin-cylinder liquid-cooled ‘Revolution X’ engine. Meanwhile, this motor was truly capable of producing a massive 59Nm. Surprise regarding the power figure? No need. For the ones who do not know, Harley Davidson never shares the power figures of any bike.

Coming to the Harley Davidson Street Rod, it used to come with the same engine just like the Street 750. However, it is tuned in a sportier manner on the Street Rod. In the end, the bike manufacturer managed to sell off the existing models of both bikes at Rs.4.69 Lakhs and Rs.5.99 Lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi).

So does that mark the end of the motorbike giant in India? A big no. Harley Davidson has recently announced that it is ready to make a comeback. But then, it will only be offering high-end motorcycles here. Further, these motorbikes will be entering the Indian shores via the CBU route.

Alternatives
