Honda Amaze achieves a new milestone; sells 4 lakh units in India

Honda Amaze continues to be the most popular compact sedan in India. Honda first introduced the Honda Amaze in 2013. Meanwhile, the car became more popular with the introduction of its second-generation model.

The popular compact sedan is powered by a 1.2-litre i-VTEC as well as a 1.5-litre i-DTEC engine. Both the engines are available with a 5-speed CVT and a 5-speed manual transmission.

Honda Cars India Ltd. recently announced the milestone set by the Honda Amaze. According to the data, Honda has sold 4 lakh units of Honda Amaze while achieving the milestone for the company. Around 2.6 lakh units sold are the first-generation Honda Amaze. While 1.4 lakh units sold consist of the second generation of the Amaze.

The popularity of the Honda Amaze stood at 9% when it was first launched. However, the number increased to 20% as soon as the second generation model arrived.

Honda Amaze already has some established rivals in the market. Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Hyundai Accent, and Volkswagen Ameo are some of its rivals. Despite having such a tuff competition Honda Amaze has managed to reach a 4 lakh cumulative sales figure.

While addressing the media, Rajesh Goel, Senior Vice President & Director, Marketing and Sales, HCIL, said that, “With 42% first-time buyers opting for Amaze, we believe its a great choice as first car for the customers which offers status of a much bigger sedan and great peace of mind with its lowest cost of maintenance to suit their budget.”
