Honda launched the fifth generation of the Honda City as the love for the particular sedan increased tremendously. Honda City has outsold all the popular sedans in India in the month of July.
Honda sold 1,975 units of Honda City crossing the sales of the Hyundai Verna and the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz. Hyundai sold 1,906 units of Hyundai Verna while Maruti Suzuki has sold 1,303 units of Maruti Suzuki Ciaz.
Honda City is the first sedan with Alexa support in the country.
The Honda City comes with two power options. The 1.5-litre i-VTECH DOHC engine with VTC which produces 121PS of power and 145Nm of torque. This new engine is a BS6 compliant which helps in lower the emission. Meanwhile, another 1.5-litre i-DTECH DOHC engine that produces 100PS of power and 200Nm of torque.
Both the engines are mated with a 7-speed CVT with paddle shifters for slick shift and 6-speed manual transmission as well. The 6-speed MT i-VTECH returns a mileage of 17.8 kmpl and the 6-speed MT i-DTECH returns a mileage of 24.1 kmpl.

The sales figure of the Honda City comprises of both the 4th and 5th generation Honda City. Honda sold the 4th generation Honda City at a discounted price. Even in the era of the SUVs, Honda City has kept the market intact for the sedan.
